It looks like everybody's jumped on the MySpace bandwagon.. *sigh*
| I'm in love with this gorgeous is this chaise lounge settee. The style is Victorian Baroque and the material is intricately carved walnut and luxurious diamond tufted blue velvet. This chair is to die for. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always been obsessed with chaise lounges. There's just something so elegant about them. I was particularly looking for Katherine Merteuil's sexy red couch from Cruel Intentions but that style looks very vintage and extremely $$$.
This would be so good at the bottom of my bed, because the T.V. is too far away and sometimes you just want to have a closer look at the screen *ahem, Miss Universe*. Speaking of which, I thought the crown was robbed of Miss Brazil. Yeah yeah, then again you could say the crown was robbed of Miss Japan last year so I suppose they made up for it. Personally, I think this year's Miss Universe looks just like my friend Maya, but I'm not sure if she'll vouch for that!

| I've been wanting a dog to take care of all my life. I'm not a cat person and there are so many cats in this area but they're too aloof and well, catty. So right now I want a dog because I'm feeling clucky motherly these days and could practice my nurturing skills on it. I'm going to love and cherish this dog like my last one - Ebony. Although this time minus the pornstar name. I swear I didn't know he had a pornstar's name until people on the street were giving me a weird look when asking the name. I figured (innocently) I'd call him Ebony because he had beautiful black hair which complimented his dark eyes.
Anyway, I'm thinking I'll be traditional and stick with the old Maltese/Shih-Tzu cross. They're so adorable and Ebony was one as well so I know I'll be getting along with this particular breed like a house on fire. Michael requested that he doesn't want fur all over the house and luckily for me, this breed doesn't shed! I really like Beagles and Staffordshires, but they'll be too big. There's this one cute dog breed called the Shih-poo, you guessed it - it's a cross between a Shih-Tzu and a poodle, and they are ah-dorr-ahh-ble!
Look at his cutsey wutsey coochie moochie face. You just want to squeeze his cheeks!
If I had it my way, I'd have a Shih-poo for cuteness, a Border Collie for their intelligence, a Siberian Husky for their affection and gentleness, a Staffordshire for their devotion and a Borzoi for their friendliness. I'd happily have a little dog farm at he backyard. And I can throw them in the pool and wash them all at once. All dogs are beautiful but I'm only allowed to have one. Which shall it be?
| I retract any terrible comments I've made about late night television. Well... after a certain time, it's not so bad . Despite having a very tiring day, I just could not seem to fall asleep last night. It was just one of those nights. I kept tossing and turning and eventually got out of bed and turned my computer on and off about three times. And after all that distraction, it was only 2 AM. Earlier on the night I managed to watch the Oprah special about "The Secret" and I found it, like others, quite inspirational. But the real breakthrough wasn't after I had seen the show, it was a mere eight hours after, in the wee hours of the morning, when I had turned on the T.V.(again) and stumbled across Creflo A. Dollar's Christian program.
Ok, I will be honest with you. I don't watch a lot of these religious programs simply because a) they're wayyy too early in the morning b) Most preachers are too intense and a borderline charlatantry and c) it reminds me of my Hillsong experience. Now I love Jesus, I enjoy Church, but I personally like to take it down a notch when it comes to my Faith. So anyhow, I watched Dollar preach found myself listening on his every word. And guess what? He sermon this morning was on Mark 4:14, where Jesus explains the parable of the sower. That's the same basic message that The Secret teachers are also trying to teach! Basically, we are the sowers, and we sow (say) the words. He later explains that some seeds (words) fall on stony ground [16], some have no root in themselves [17] and some sown amongst thorns become unfruitful [18] but those that are sown on good ground will bring forth fruit, some thirty fold, some sixty and some a hundred [20]. These seeds are our words, so when we say something, we might not always receive what we want in return. Here, it is 3 out of 4 times. But when He says that if it is sown on good ground, i.e. we understand what we are saying/believing, we will receive something. The message is really simple, what you ask, depending on your intentions, you will receive. Suppose if you want material things, with no heart or no soul worth, there's a greater possibility that you won't achieve it. And alternatively, another way you can perceive the message is if you hear the word of the gospel, but don't understand it, you won't bear any fruit. That is: Impressions that are not deep, will not last.
I thought in the span of less than half an hour, it was incredibly inspiring. I wanted more! But it was nearing 5 AM and I was starting to get restless. Who knows, maybe a night in the not-too-distant future I might find myself tuning into another episode!
| The first time I heard "I want you" by Savage Garden, I knew I had fallen in love with Darren's voice. Actually no, I believe I truly fell in love with Darren's voice in "To the Moon and Back". Oh yes, we are talking about Savage Garden. They are a group in a league of their own, and are proof that great songs can transcend time.
My wallpaper for what seemed like an eternity
I was only 14 when I first saw the video for To the Moon and Back, and my gosh was Darren Hayes such a stud. I totally digged his long black hair and mysterious eyes and he had the whole "dark" thing going on. When I look back at the video, it looks like it probably costed them $50 to make and the director was just putting a whole bunch of random scenes together and at times nobody knew what was going on. And if you really emerse yourself in the lyrics, you'd probably be a bit confused too. But hey, this was the beginning of a group that wrote about non-sense, which somehow made a lot of sense to the world. So much so, that they sold 23 million albums and won countless awards (who could forget the 10 ARIAS in 1997). Their name was kept as a constant reminder of their music - taken from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice - "The mind of each man is a savage garden..." - a little raw, a little edgy and very complex.
This TV Hits poster would be on my folder for years 10, 11 and 12. You could describe them as soft rock, or pop, or rock, but I don't think Savage Garden have a defined genre. They kind of fuse all of the above together. At the end of 2001, the group broke up and Daniel Jones was never to be heard of again however, Darren stayed in the limelight. Savage Garden still lives on in his music and you can hear it ever present in his latest song "So Beautiful". I was hoping they would become the next Air Supply (as they were what I'd listen to growing up in the 80s) and would never part, but as I still listen to "Mine", I know "Just a twist in time... you could be mine".
